vintage synth demo by RetroSound Some typical sounds from the Roland JD-800 Synthesizer. For me is the JD-800 one of the best Digital-Synthesizers ever made. Great digital pads and warm strings are the best sounds from the JD. Sorry for the bad sound quality of my little cam. This one of my first synth vids on YouTube. See my other JD-800 vids with much better sound quality on YouTube! more info: http://www.retrosound.de and http://www.myspace.com/retrosound72

Sep 17, 2008 - Best way to start, definitely. I started out with a JP-8000, and quickly regretted it, because on top of that I had to get the USB-MIDI interface, then a mixer, then a new sound card to finally get the bastard into Cubase.

Sep 19, 2008 - quality sound right there is there any better synth for string sounds or this is the best one?
retrosound72 Says:
Sep 19, 2008 - JD-800 is very good for string and pad sounds. also very good: Roland JX-8P, Roland Juno-106 or 60, Korg Wavestation...

Oct 10, 2008 - This is really cool! I'm planning to make music my future carreer. I've always wanted a synthesiser for a couple of years but the money really pushes chances of me getting one right down. It's a £400 Yamaha MM6. Is it worth getting? I can only push as far as £200. Which can get me a Yamaha PSR-E413 all in one keyboard or a Casio LK-210AD keyboard (with SD card support). Could you help in any way? I'm 16 at my last year of school and take higher music.

Oct 10, 2008 - the first question... keyboard workstation or synthesizer? Will you create your own sounds or will you use sample sounds? The second-hand market is enormous.
findlay27 Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - Well, a bit of both. I'd like to create my own sounds and put them to use in my own composisions. I also plan to apply for digitised music course at college, no mayjor entry requirements but I'd help with knowing how to use certain programs such as FL Studio. I'd be playing my sounds into the program. maybe even just use the program to make the back beat of the music. I have been working on a short composision... my first self inspired one. Thanks for any advice! Martin
findlay27 Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - I have thought about a 2nd hand keyboard or synthsizer but I have a bad past with preowned epuipment of any sort. Of course though I'd ask to test it before it even leaves the shop lol!
retrosound72 Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - Buy a synth with direct access for any functions like a Nord Lead or Access Virus. For the beginning one comes so faster to the first track.
findlay27 Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - Thanks for the advice on the specifications! I've subscribed to your vids ok! Purely because I love your synths, do you work around them? Or is it a pass time? just wondering lol! Catcha later! Martin.
