Documented fact: John Wayne DID chicken out. When Clark Gable & other leading men went to war he got their parts, moving up from B-pictures. (Documentary on History channel). I got into a total argument over this with some of his kids at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara and if I hadnt been 6 months pregnant they would have decked me.
