Nov 1, 2008 - Sorry SexiFac3, I guess I didn't make it clear enough. YES, the janet jackson dance production is cheesy IMO, no matter how much of a classic it is. Not my cup of tea.

SexiFac3 Says:

Nov 3, 2008 - it may not be your cup of tea but in NO way, shape, or form was it "cheesy", that would be classified as YOUR opinion. sry doetim...

doetim Says:

Nov 3, 2008 - Yes you are correct and I did say "IMO" but the conclusion that it was not cheesy would be your opinion too because this is purely subjective so no right or wrong here.

SexiFac3 Says:

Nov 4, 2008 - yea, but the difference is that ppl would call the video/routine classic before they would ever call it "cheesy", [aside from maybe this youtube community].

doetim Says:

Nov 4, 2008 - Yes, I would say that most people would call that video/dance routine a classic over it being cheesy BUT that doesn't make you and them right and me wrong, because this is art not math so there's no right or wrong. And I'm sure I would not be the only person who thing that dance routine is cheesy. Her brother's dance routine in Thriller was spectacular n groundbreaking, Janet did hers a few years later but she didn't do anything new or different, it was definitely inferior 2 Michael's effort.

SexiFac3 Says:

Nov 6, 2008 - woooooooow, just know that what you just said is DEFINITELY an opinion. im really sure the same is said about thriller. i can not believe that you would think janets routine was "inferior" to mikes. hey, opinions and assholes...

doetim Says:

Nov 6, 2008 - Dude, you are taking this way to seriously man. This is supposed to be a friendly exchange of opinions, there is no right or wrong here from either one of us. Yes I have acknowledged that everything I've been saying is all my opinion and same with you. Now you are taking it personally and calling me an asshole? Chill out man! cheezus.

SexiFac3 Says:

Nov 6, 2008 - lol i didnt call you an asshole, im simply saying making a connection. opinions and asshole, everyone has one....i guess i didnt fully express that, sry. also im not taking it serious but i think what youre saying is really wrong, but as we said, opinions.

doetim Says:

Nov 6, 2008 - Sorry SexiFac3, I misunderstood you. Peace! Again, no one is right or wrong here, we are merely commenting on whether a dance routine from an 80's music video is cheesy or not. We are not discussing a math problem. I will reiterate that everything i've said is all opinions, U must do the same. It's like U and me arguing about whether Angelina Jolie is pretty or not. If I say she is and you say she isn't and 95% agree with me, it doesn't mean i'm right or you're wrong cuz beauty is subjective.

SexiFac3 Says:

Nov 6, 2008 - absolutely right. blondie is ko0l by the way lol.

Nov 7, 2008 - You had to admit you wanted the love of a... sex offender.

andreaandrewmilne Says:

Nov 9, 2008 - Just read the cheesy/classic dance steps debate. Woh. Am I missing the point, or is it that Debs is sending up the whole teen "leader of the pack", "got the hots for the cop in uniform" naffness? The disparity between desire and what's acdeptable, let alone cool, is kinda, you know, one of the songs themes. Now where are those rubber boots and badges....

DramaticSoul77 Says:

Nov 9, 2008 - Wow, futuristic for 1976

guyinsf Says:

Nov 10, 2008 - andreaandrewmilne, You know that when I said the dance routine was cheesy, I was talking about Janet jackson's video for Rhythm Nation or Pleasure Principal or whatever it was. I think someone said that Debbie's movements were lame and I said I liked Debbie's dance moves because it's not cheesy, overly produced like most of those MTV janet jackson stuff.

andreaandrewmilne Says:

Nov 10, 2008 - Guyinsf - Reckon you're right. Anyone who thinks Debs was ever lame needs an irony/sense of humour injection. I have to admit I wanted to ... express my love for a musical genius. Plus that keyboard player, and those two guitarists. Now just what were their names, didn't they have something to do with it? 25 tons of such talent runs on no ordinary wheels ... :-)
