Nov 20, 2008 - The difference in levels between SSJ SSJ2 and even SSJ3... he only needs a couple of seconds. Kind of like how when Gohan fought Cell at SSJ, then when he achieved SSJ2 "could've" destroyed cell with one blast. It's a giant jump in power, that SSJ3 would absolutely destroy SSJ2

Goku could stay ssj3 for long enough to beat Vegeta that was no problem, but then all his time on earth would be used up and he'd be transported back to other world, leaving everybody else to deal with the mess without him, but he still wanted to help... so he avoided using SSJ3 until he absolutely had to ( when he faced buu by himself )
