As an African American and Pan-African holiday celebrated by millions throughout the world African community, Kwanzaa brings a cultural message which speaks to the best of what it means to be African and human in the fullest sense. Given the profound significance Kwanzaa has for African Americans and indeed, the world African community, it is imperative that an authoritative source and site be made available to give an accurate and expansive account of its origins, concepts, values, symbols and practice.this video is part of the bonus scenes from Owen 'Alik Shahadah award winning film 500 Years Later (www.500yearslater.com), produced by M.K. May 16, 2008 - LOL, because the guy who created the holiday was a convicted felon for torturing two women in his basement. He whipped them with electrical cord and assaulted them with a karate baton after forcing them to remove their clothing. I mean I doubt anyone one follow a holiday created by Hitler, right? Not to mention its a SEPERATIST holiday meant to DIVIDE not to UNITE, so maybe you should stop being "lame".
botchalism Says:
May 16, 2008 - Well maybe you should have someone who isn't a convicted felon create your EXCLUSIVE little holiday.

May 16, 2008 - Greetings, Your point is taken, but I don't throw stones in a glass house nor am I his judge. In addition I don't see any solutions from you just criticisms of his pasts. Has he done this recently have you done everything right in your life. I hope so
raols666666 Says:
May 21, 2008 - Actually Dr. Karenga encourages Kwanzaa to be celebrated along with Christmas and Hanukkah. Yes, I read his wikipedia page too. His criminal record is not that shocking considering that most religions have founders, leaders, and followers who have committed atrocious crimes against others. It was also during a very volatile time in American History.
botchalism Says:
May 22, 2008 - I could see if it was stealing or doing drugs maybe even beating up your girlfriend, but when you and your cult followers force two women into your basement and torture them because you're paranoid delusional thinking they're slipping you poisonous crystals then I have to draw the line. Oh yeah and they put a hot soldering iron in their mouth, whipping them, a good baton beating, and put her big toes into a vice. But you're right, I mean everyone kidnaps and tortures women once in their life.
jjuuoi Says:
May 25, 2008 - What is wrong with celebrating Christmas?
jjuuoi Says:
May 25, 2008 - Be proud of being American first. Embrace American culture first.
suntzu1985 Says:
Jun 29, 2008 - actually it does matter because kwanza is a satanic ritual invented in the late 1960's by a berkeley california professor fully immersed in the liberal socialistic communism of that God-less insitution. basically it says that Christianity and God is just not good enough for the kwanza-shiites. he reasoned that Americans of africano descent need to go back to their un-enlightened pagan satanic roots of demonic nature worship.
raols666666 Says:
Jun 30, 2008 - Ha Ha. Honestly, your post is hardly worth formulating a well thought out argument against. Luckily I beleive, that no one would believe that Kwanzaa encourages those who celebrate the holiday, to go back to "pagan and satanic worship rituals." Before you spead fear and hate, please educate yourself on the topic so you can formulate reasonable arguments. Have a nice week!
suntzu1985 Says:
Jun 30, 2008 - actually i have read about kwanza and it does not even reach the level of amusement by me if anything it is a joke not even worthy of bemusement and it is reminiscent of the pagan worship of the animists in sub-saharan africa. maybe you are the one who needs to educate yourself about kwanza because if you go to africa today nobody there adheres to its messages. it was invented in the 1960's for alienated hateful black africanos living in America who felt that Jesus and God was not good enough.
raols666666 Says:
Jun 30, 2008 - Well I am pleased to see that you responded with an intelligent argument. Thank you, I commend you for your well thought out response. I will not patronize you and explain the seven principles, since it sounds that you have taken the time to atleast read them. I would not consider them pagan in thought or practice, but if you do this is your choice. My only criticism of your response, is that Kwanzaa was created in the United States, initally for those of African-American Decent. Cont....
raols666666 Says:
Jun 30, 2008 - Therefore those who live in Africa are encouraged and free-to celebrate the holiday, but it would be understandable if those in Africa do not, as it was primarily created as an American holiday. While I believe I know what you are attempting to say by referring to the Dr. Karenda as "hateful and alienated," I personally see him as a product of the civil rights era, I would like to understand your interpretation of Dr. Karenga as a person who felt "jesus and god were not good enough." Thanks!

Aug 1, 2008 - u're a true muthafucka!!!
suntzu1985 Says:
Aug 1, 2008 - i stand firmly behind my previous statements in that 'kwanza' is an invented ritual with no real tradition except for its creation in the late 1960's. furthermore, the person who invented it felt that Jesus Christ and God was just not good enough for him and others. hence, he harkened back to an animistic/shaministic pagan past to resurrect nature worship and therefore, devil and satanic rituals of an un-enlightened past.
suntzu1985 Says:
Aug 1, 2008 - all of these holidays have actual precedents in the past and are modern day interpretations of ceremonies from an earlier time. further, they all have Christian origins linking them to Jesus Christ and ultimately to God. actually, i do understand kwanza and it was invented in the late 1960's by a person who felt that Jesus Christ, Christianity and God were just not good enough for him and others. therefore, he invented a ritual from the pagan animistic/shaministic culture of africa.
baxx07 Says:
Aug 2, 2008 - kwanzaa is NOT a religious celebration!!!!!!!!!! whether he thought christianity were good or not, datz besides tha point... and u're such a liar becouz everybody praises GOD, we just differ on religions, how can u say the person felt GOD was not good enough!!!! stupid... datz why the dude declared it starts after "christmas day" so that it does not interfer with those christians and wat u're saying it totaly retarded!!!!!!! peace....
baxx07 Says:
Aug 2, 2008 - for a record, there's no problem with african cultures!!! hw dare u disrespect us?!! name just "one" ritual which u think is backward and he applied it to the celebration. dn't worry i'll wait!!!! bitch hater!!! u probably ain't never been to any african country or perhaps ever asked sum1 4rm africa.. get ur facts right. undastand b4 u hate playa!!! i hope the christ u praise has mercy on ya.. the kind of people he died for are full of shitt!!! wat a wasteful sacrifice!!!
suntzu1985 Says:
Aug 2, 2008 - actually kwanza is celebrated as a religion and africos are using it to subvert the legitimate Christianity in the local neighborhoods and in the surrounding communities as well as pushing it into schools just like islamism or mohammedism is being pushed into the local schools. both are animistic/shaministic mystical movements designed to subvert legitimate Christian Religious celebration. also, i stand by my previous statements that it is an invented ritual with no legitimate background in fact

greatgmasta Says:
Nov 23, 2008 - I think jesus dieing for the worlds sin is bullshit. Thier was no big holy war battle, the world wasn't on the brenk of distruction, witch doctors weren't preparing thier people for the worst. None of that happened(if it did then maybe I would be christian) Jesus wasn't faced with the "ultimate scarifice". No volcano eruptions, high winds, no nothing. Just a man died. How boring.
peasah2005 Says:
May 9, 2008 - Kwanzaa at the end of the day is for all Afrikans, globally.
