Nov 20, 2008 - when i was a kid i used to dance to this in the basement. the first time i listened to it I entered into a trance and tore apart the first cassette tape and then had to buy it again. Years I later told the story to my Russian Culture Prof. He thought it was great, and suggested i buy a bunch of cassettes so i could repeat the process every time i listened to it.

Nov 20, 2008 - Jesus Christ! Over 2 and a half minutes and still credits! I gave up. Life's too short. Did anyone ever start dancing, I wonder? Hint : next time put the credits at the end, for those who are interested!

Nov 21, 2008 - technically when the ballet is performed, the curtain rises about 2 and a half minutes into the score... they're just trying to accurately depict the debut!

Nov 22, 2008 - The ballet is magnificent but I'm not very fond of this interpretation of the music. I think it's too fast. Maybe I'm just too used to the Berlin Philharmonic's playing of it.

Nov 22, 2008 - good film

Nov 23, 2008 - Why are musicians always contemplating over speed? The speed is perfect because it matches what the dancers do.
JumaHoliday Says:

jesperdepesper Says:
Nov 24, 2008 - the overall tempo is too quick
lloydgar01 Says:
Nov 25, 2008 - Yeah, but you know what dancers are like surely. They can't count for (stuff). I thought that the music was very diagenic-like with that tempo.
Rarre4 Says:
Nov 25, 2008 - Actually Nijinsky wanted the dancers to dance "between the counts" for some reason

Nov 26, 2008 - will someone please explain what this shit is supposed to mean!! i don't get it :(
lloydgar01 Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - He wanted them to be syncopated like the bulkans/russia.
dubya13207 Says:
Nov 28, 2008 - it's a ritual sacrifice being performed by a nonexistent savage tribe musically....well, it's just stravinsky strutting his stuff
EnglishBayley Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - These original costumes are amazing! Old B&W pictures are brought to life! How great to have the color and the choreography pulled together into this magical trip back to the early 1900's! Thakns for sharing!

Dec 2, 2008 - out of all the interpretations people have made of this piece, i honestly think that this one will always be the best. a lot of the newer modern versions just come of as strange for some reason
