Jul 21, 2008 - My thoughts exactly. The overall energy is mind-blowing, Jerry is burning on guitar. I also have Closing of Winterland, hard to beat that version I agree....but, WOW.

Sep 27, 2008 - 1981 was a fantastic year for the band. They were firing on all cylinders for just about every show that year. Thanks PranksterPrairie for posting.

Oct 24, 2008 - What were some of the worst years for the Grateful Dead?
Darrylizer1 Says:
Oct 24, 2008 - In my opinion, I'd have to say '94 and '95 the last two years were pretty dire. Jerry's health was failing, his carpal tunnel was getting worse and he was back into drug use with a vengeance. I'm not a fan of most of '86 either. After Brent Mydland died in '90 I don't think the band ever fully recovered, and to me new keys player Vince Welnick didn't fit in until '93 which I think is a good year. My fav years are 69 to 72, 77, and the early 80s. Other folks really love 73 - 74. Just my opinion.
