Nov 11, 2008 - Look, Toto and the song are both great and I know it`s the eighties, however the clip is kind of hilarious. Bobby Kimbal has not much to do here and 3 members playing some kind of keyboard/piano is a bit overkill. Dave looks very happy, especially in the very first seconds of the clip :-P Can we say ' clumsy '? In my country we have a great word for it and the translation would be....."dicky" lol!

Nov 15, 2008 - Someone said this was 80s; I believe this was '79, possibly '78. I remember this being omni-present on the radio when I was 15, or 16. Always wondered if this was a reference to the gorgeous secret agent of "Get Smart" fame, golly I was in love with her!

Nov 17, 2008 - Overkill? What about bands with 2 or more guitars, it's even worse! At least a keyboard can make sounds other than piano. But.. didn't these guys look incredibly goofy?? Especially the guy singing, he has such jacked up teeth! Is he from Britain? and the guy playing the white piano looks like he escaped from the small bus especially with his two fingered playing!! YIKES, brush your teeth if you're making a video of closeups! also, what drugs were they on when they thought up 99?
MrDefaulto Says:
Nov 17, 2008 - Just to be clear, I really like this song.

Nov 21, 2008 - Thank you crimsu99 for explaining why the band is in an all white room dressed in white. I am aware of the reason too. To quote your explanation: "In point of fact, music video of "99" features the band in an all-white room dressed in white, a set piece designed around Lucas' visionary film." These guys were young then, yet unbelievable in their musicianship.
ShamanMick Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - One piano, one organ, one synth. Three different sounds. You call it overkill, I call it the 80s. Love 'em.

EpiScintilate Says:
Dec 5, 2008 - Great track and chords. I've always liked the sound of the chorus and how the cow bell is used to accentuate the popping on the bass (what a cool idea).
Elpdude Says:
Nov 10, 2008 - I've been a Toto fan for almost 30 years, and I'm only seeing this video for the first time ever! I've never seen Luke play a Telecaster before now, either!
