Jul 5, 2007 - You don't understand the term "ironic," do you? I'd hate to be perpetually angry as you appear.
russellc54 Says:
Jul 5, 2007 - I see irony (en-wikipedia-org/wiki /Irony) -- see what you wish. Anger? No. Basic research indicates links between the increasing use of wide-screen technology and base-load power demand -- & thus CO2. Eno is irrelevant but suggesting greater active use of these devices to watch changing images is irresponsible. Practice looking at ink blots and using your imagination -- it's cheaper and you'll probably learn more! (... and that's not irony -- that's sarcasm!)
Spacelines Says:
Jul 10, 2007 - I'm a huge fan and have been for years, but the power consumption/CO2 is real and doesn't scale, generative art = look at nature everyday, now thats shocking.I'm sure efficiencies will come along, but its easier on the planet to watch it in SL or as a netcast service.
rocketdogmedia Says:
Jul 18, 2007 - I had the good fortune to catch the installation of this for Long Now at the YBCA in San Francisco. Really amazing. I love the software version of this project, but it just doesn't compare to a live exhibition.

Nov 19, 2007 - You are pushing against a wall russellc54. You're using up your energy on something that will not go away. If you stop pushing against the wall the wall will still be there but you will not be using up your energy in vain ..
grimisstacks Says:
Dec 1, 2007 - why do you think people make art for a distraction for entertainment what people think of it after is unimportant

Mar 30, 2008 - Why discourage people from watching TV screens. That's not the culprit of global warming, its industrial agriculture, and private transportation. Balls!
prebenso Says:
Apr 3, 2008 - So much explaining to do if you want to cover all 77 mill pictures.
patpatpat8 Says:
Apr 5, 2008 - how diverse, yet a bit of an eye-sore.
patpatpat8 Says:
Apr 5, 2008 - this guy's voice sounds like he's on cocaine, like his throat is medicated and numb, this is just a movie of alternating abstract designs, maybe if he's high on coke, he can keep up with all 77 million whatever designs. He's also trying to act like he has discovered something in the world of art, it's rubbish, I'd rather look at the universe through a telescope.
TheFinalCut2207 Says:
May 6, 2008 - Brian eno is a genious. So textural and spacious.
FirmGoose Says:
Jun 15, 2008 - Very interesting. It reminds me of a piece called "Deconstructing Piero" that I saw in a Michael Craig-Martin exhibition. It had moved or changed the places and colours of the various characters from Francessca's "the flagellaation" and rearranged them randomly. A note indicated that you were likely never to see the same variant again.
