Feb 26, 2008 - Chernoybl was a result of nuclear test gone wrong, not poor maintenance. what they were trying to do was to see if the turbine in the nuclear plant had enough energy to power the emergency shut-off switch and to keep the pumps that cool the reactor core to a good temp. but what happened was that the core overheated to fast and they couldnt control it. then the core melted down its walls, exposing it to even more oxygen which acted like a catalyst to propel the fission to a uncontrolled speed.

Feb 27, 2008 - yeah nuclear waste is harmful but we can contain its waste by storing it undergoround unlike the coal powerstations that produce all these harful gasses that we cant really do anything about...

Feb 27, 2008 - Good comment lol

Feb 27, 2008 - (that was a reply to kratois just incase it looked like a bit of a random comment) :)

X8T8X Says:

Feb 29, 2008 - A number of commenters seem to overlook some important points. Peter Jeg mentioned storage of nuclear waste underground. The coal fired electricity industry also is doing this with CO2 sequestration. However underground storage of nuclear and CO2 waste are both subject to siesmic events, even in places thought 'safe'. Leaking CO2 can even be reclaimed from the air. Leaking radiation cannot! Better to not make the waste in the 1st instance. Windpower has no waste byproduct of any harmfulness!

Feb 29, 2008 - You can't run a reliable bulk electric system without large nuclear or coal plants. Wind turbines do not have enough critical mass to keep the frequency stable during disturbances.

BanjoNaps Says:

Mar 1, 2008 - Nuclear waste can be reprocessed until it is no longer radioactive.

LeastLife Says:

Mar 1, 2008 - i want to buy one=)

Spitfireseven Says:

Mar 4, 2008 - Nuclear waste cannot be reprocessed....yet! It will be up to the wind, plasma fusion tocomaks and photoelectrics of a bunch of new varieties. NO NUKES!!!! This is dirty dirty dirty as has been proven time and again. We will see the Tocamaks soon. We will be free of the burning.

eccentricellipse Says:

Mar 6, 2008 - You're mistaken, just like every other anti-nuke fanatic. Look up breeder reactors. You can re-burn spent nuclear fuel in a cycle. The problem is that at one stage in the cycle its weapon-grade, and that freaks people like you out more than nuclear waste itself. Learn a little about science, and our civilization can get much further along.

Spitfireseven Says:

Mar 7, 2008 - Your right! Nuclear waste freaks me out and it is as premordial now as coal fired boilers. Let's go with the new the better and safer. Cow poop is coming along too. It doesn't go into a meltdown either.

crispocream123 Says:

Mar 7, 2008 - fucking speak english plz

jigglesnap Says:

Mar 28, 2008 - Nuclear is as bad as coal?? You can't be serious. Coal power plants spit out 100 times as much radioactivity as the Three Mile Island incident annually.

jigglesnap Says:

Mar 28, 2008 - and this will only become less and less of a problem over time.

Spitfireseven Says:

Mar 28, 2008 - Very interesting information. Please note: Tokamac refuse has a half lfe of 100 years. Less time than it takes coal ash to be properly reassimilated into the environment. Kind of interesting Huh!!

Spitfireseven Says:

Mar 28, 2008 - You know what they do with depleted uranium? Make it into ammunition and send it over to Iraq. The level of Leukemia amoungst soldiers handling and firing this ammunition is yet to be charted. But, what a horrific use. What will be the effects on the population? Beyond Belief.

alybrat Says:

Apr 2, 2008 - Chill plz. YouTube is an international phenomenon.

crispocream2 Says:

Apr 3, 2008 - my ass it is. do you even know what phenomenon is? cuz that aint how it is used ina sentence

alybrat Says:

Apr 3, 2008 - Websters Dictionary - an observable fact or event: a rare or significant fact or event :an exceptional, unusual, or abnormal person, thing, or occurrence. Random House -- something that impresses the observer as extraordinary. I think they all fit. The last is the denotative meaning I was going for but maybe I should say phenomena for YouTube since phenomenon is plural. But each user post could cause the plural to be used. Wow, again chill. Such ethnocentric views!

crispocream123 Says:

Apr 4, 2008 - lol i am chilled, to many wanna b's use that word now... and btw still not a phenomena

rickpaulos Says:

Apr 9, 2008 - yet to be charted? What about the army studies of the health of the workers at the plants where they made the depleted uranium ammo?
