AndrewHeyworth Says:

Aug 26, 2008 - Thanks!

PlaneAU Says:

Aug 27, 2008 - why are you adding atc voicces that werent really there. I can tell its fake because planes are only allowed to pull their unercarriage down once their cleared to land, and once they are cleared to land there is nothing left to say untill it has touched down exept if they tell it to go around.

Aug 27, 2008 - well done you will be posted a medal.

Aug 28, 2008 - PlaneAU, you are talking through your bumhole. "...planes are only allowed to pull their undercarriage down once (they're) cleared to land..." BORROX! Aircraft can be 10+ miles out with gear down but only get landing clearance at as little as 1 mile or LESS! You are some expert, eh? Andrew, that was a very well made set of clips, nicely captured. Good work. Cliff.

AndrewHeyworth Says:

Aug 28, 2008 - Thanks Cliff, I appreciate your comment! Andrew

AndrewHeyworth Says:

Aug 28, 2008 - The Emirates flight crew received a late landing clearance because of the previous landing aircraft had not vacated the runway! If your theory is correct then the Emirates crew would only be lowing the gear down on the very last 1 mile or so!

Sep 9, 2008 - awesome vid! love Manchester Airport! whereabouts are you filming?

AndrewHeyworth Says:

AndrewHeyworth Says:

Sep 15, 2008 - Yes! You can either walk around the 05/R approach lights or go under the tunnel by following the footpath!

Sep 26, 2008 - Are the tyers supposte to smoke like that? :S

covladuk1985 Says:

Sep 26, 2008 - Someone explain to me why the engine goes back like that? is it like a break or something and how do they work :S

Kobeydurham Says:

Sep 27, 2008 - :P lol its called thrust reverse it helps slow the plane down

Kobeydurham Says:

Sep 27, 2008 - yea

covladuk1985 Says:

Sep 27, 2008 - oh i see lol what would happen if they didn't work? surely it would stop anyway. and yea what? that the wheels are supposte to smoke like that?

covladuk1985 Says:

Sep 27, 2008 - what's the key to the perfect landing?

Kobeydurham Says:

Sep 28, 2008 - yea da wheels are ok smoking its because they are not spinning when touching the ground and maybe it might stop in time it deppends on weight, speed, and aircraft :P

Oct 9, 2008 - When did you take this video? I was on the emirates flight departing on 16 march 2008

AndrewHeyworth Says:

Oct 9, 2008 - It was filmed in 2007!

blueb0g Says:

Oct 29, 2008 - yes, usualy the aircraft would stop if the reversers didn't deploy; the brakes, especialy on a long runway, when coupled with speedbrakes/spoilers are engough to stop it. and the wheels smoke because they are still, then suddenly speed up, = friction, = rubber burning, = smoke!
