Nov 18, 2008 - I am Hungarian and my parents have the song in their CD collection and they have the actual Gloomy Sunday DVD. There is no demon or voice telling you to kill yourself. It is just a sad song (the English version is also available and just as beautiful, I think it is sung by Billie Holiday) performed during a depressing era in Hungary's history (the 1940's, during the war) so people became depressed and some committed suicide.
