Dir: Katrine Talks Little Hands offers a glimpse into the lives of a group of deaf children at a Danish 'fritidshjem,' a recreation centre where they meet after school. We follow their games and controversies in a place where they can communicate without barriers in their own language - Sign Language. Here, deafness ceases to be a disability and becomes part of the lively and vibrant world they belong to.

Aug 6, 2008 - This is a cute documentary. It's interesting watching kids play. Must be frustrating though when you're tryng to talk to a group of people and the odd person has his back to you for a moment.

Aug 19, 2008 - what a great way to show that these kids are just like any other kids - as you watch you forget that they are any different or have a disability at all! kudos to a great little film:o)

Aug 28, 2008 - As your ears controll your balance, if your deaf does that mean your balance is worser than a person who isnt deaf?

Sep 11, 2008 - Beautiful video. It's great to watch the similarities between Australian Sign Language (AUSLAN) and Danish. Regardless of the language, sign is just so expressive, no matter where it is in the world.

Oct 4, 2008 - No... There's fluid in the inner ear that helps you determine your balance. It has nothing to do with hearing. What your saying is like saying someone who can't smell also can't breathe through their nose.

Oct 5, 2008 - Brilliant little documentary. Though I would think it would be very difficult for them to learn much new vocab if they speak better sign language than their parents. I know they come into contact with new words at school but we learn so much from our parents.
