I don't know if you know it but your talking about the brown coats, which were the British but the whole deal about the Catholics. That's more of what was going on between the Irish Catholics and the protestants and just other non-catholics. The British deal back in the 20's was for independence the religion came in with the Irish fighting themselves. I'd know I lived there for quite a while so don't say I'm lying.

She did love him, she may have been a bit of a bitch but she did love him and he was happy with her, and his death was in no way her fault. Nov 23, 2008 - Erm yasmine3414 I think you are mixed up, let me explain :) Ben E King did the original version, River Phoenix wasn't even a singer and never did the original, as he was born in 1970, and the original was in 1969. He was an actor who was in a film called "Stand By Me", but he died in his early 20s. The video on youtube with him in is a sort of tribute to him :).
