meddlecascade Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - his phrasing at 3:29 is killer. i always wrote him off as a pop lightweight, but he's obviously got vocal chops in this vid.
meddlecascade Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - i think that you are right. talk about an unforgettable face.
babyEroose Says:
Oct 15, 2008 - his face at 4:42-4:49, the expression is very odd there...i don't know what to make of that.

Oct 28, 2008 - One of the greatest singers of all time in my humble opinion...
phillyproduct125 Says:
Oct 30, 2008 - I have this on tape...Philly's own Hall & Oates...This was such a great show at the Apollo...Many people think that this was Paul Young's song, but it was on Hall & Oates 1980 album and was never made a into a single!!!
phillyproduct125 Says:
Oct 30, 2008 - Go to wikipedia and look it up...This is a Hall & Oates song written by Darryl Hall and the song was not released as a single, but it was on their 1980 album...They did not steal this song from Paul Young!!!
bcfcyouknowsit Says:
Oct 30, 2008 - you should not believe everything you read on the internet,
phillyproduct125 Says:
Oct 31, 2008 - Yes, I shouldn't believe everything I read on the internet...Instead, I'll believe the 1980 CD I have of Hall & Oates that has this song on it and I'll also believe the 1980 concert that took place at the Tower Theater here in Philly when they sang this same song, five years prior to Paul Young!!!
phillyproduct125 Says:
Oct 31, 2008 - As a matter of fact, your boy Paul Young has sang MANY cover songs...Oh Girl (The Chi Lites 1972), What Becomes of the Broken Hearted (Jimmy Ruffin, 1966), Don't Dream It's Over (Crowded House, 1986), Both Sides Now (Joni Mitchell, 1969), Love of the Common People (Waylon Jennings, 1967), Love Will Tear Us Apart (Joy Division, 1979), Wherever I Lay My Hat (Marvin Gaye, 1962), and so on...I love Paul Young as an artist but the point is he's made his career off of remakes including this one!!!
bcfcyouknowsit Says:
Oct 31, 2008 - the song was written by our boy Paul with slightly different lyrics and your boy with a girls name changed then. he wrote every time you go shopping, you take a piece of meat with you. today you have learned something new.
phillyproduct125 Says:
Oct 31, 2008 - I guess Paul did the same thing with the other cover songs he sang, too!!!...every time you go shopping, you take a piece of meat with you...Brillant!!!
Trookieness Says:
Nov 3, 2008 - I heard the H&O version years before the Paul Young cover, and to this day I still prefer the original. And now after watching this spectacular video several times in a row, I've come to the following conclusions: 1. Daryl Hall can eat Paul Young for breakfast. 2. Daryl is a god with the most 1980s of 1980s hairdos. 3. I want that hairdo.
ElvisStillRules Says:
Nov 13, 2008 - What an impressive mane! The biggest male lion in the world would be envious if it saw his mane :-)
gigingaara29 Says:
Nov 14, 2008 - hey it was stated that paul young did a cover of this song, but of course it was paul who made it popular! I like both artist..daryl hall is awesome and has more voice power than paul...
backbayhiker Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Justin who? Robin who? Watch and learn . He made the two titans of motown sound feel him at the Appollo (Eddie Kindreds and David Ruffin) 5:39-5:50. Respect. GOOD MUSIC FOREVER!!!
babyEroose Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - you know youre badass when you get 2 of the best lead vocalists in modern times singing BACKUP for you. And damn daryl, that 80s hair!! i never realized that oates was that short...i thought that maybe daryl hall was just tall...but ruffin & kendricks are just regular height and they eclipse him. thanks for this vid, it just got added to my favorites.
