On this particular one there was a bunch of collage kids saying that they had released a bunch on chinese lanterns and that's what's being filmed here.

Nov 19, 2008 - those are just chinese lanterns! didnt you guys play with these things when you were younger? ok, take a slow burning fire starter, take lightweight but non flammable cloth or whatever, shape it like a balloon, attach the firestarter somehow, to its base, light it, let the warm air gather and let go of the whom assembly...it'll float gently into the night sky...beautiful to watch
