Nov 8, 2008 - meh alison krauss' performance doesn't do much for me. she doesn't interact with plant at all!! plant is awesome, but that is expected; i don't like this as much as LZ stuff tho. that stuff is magic.

Nov 9, 2008 - You really do need to get it. I've listened to it probably 100 times and I can't get enough.
DisneyWorld85 Says:
Nov 10, 2008 - I wasn't a big fan of this album at first, but it's grown on me. It's mostly a Robert Plant album with Alison Krauss providing harmony, but that's okay now. At first I was miffed that she didn't showcase her voice more.

Nov 10, 2008 - I lovet this album, I can listen to it over and over

Nov 11, 2008 - She was focusing on the moment and she plays right handed. Notice on tour they reversed their places so she could see RP as she played...
dlawrick Says:
Nov 11, 2008 - Same here some great moments here. Alison's big smile after her solo and Jay's kick into overdrive that was a little too short for me. TBone should have let her loose for a few more stanzas...

Nov 12, 2008 - You know what guys, this is actually pretty good! I just read something Jimmy Page was saying about Robert not doing a Zeppelin thing because he was touring with Alison Krauss and for shits'n giggles I thought I'd check this out. Glad I did!!

Nov 12, 2008 - i think thats also part of her personality...to share the spotlight
ZeropointZero70 Says:
Nov 12, 2008 - well, you're comparing two completely different idioms of music there. This is bluegrass and folk. Which Zeppelin touched upon here and there. Get this record and let it wash over you. This is where Plant belongs now- not doing a ridiculous Zeppelin tour at 60 yrs old. Do you think he can still howl like he did when he was 20 yrs old? Page looks like Santa Claus and Bonzo is dead. This music is magic as well. it will become classic in no time at all.
lifeinslowmotion1987 Says:
Nov 13, 2008 - I agree totally. And you know, I just wonder how the other members think they're going to be able to do this Zeppelin reunion without the voice of Zeppelin. If you ask me, it's probably going to suck big time. Plant made the smartest choice he's probably ever made when he decided not to do this reunion. Page, Jones, and Bonham Jr. need to realize the same thing Plant has realized.
lifeinslowmotion1987 Says:
Nov 13, 2008 - Let's see how many people I pissed off with that last comment.
ZeropointZero70 Says:
Nov 13, 2008 - certainly not me, haha! If only the fans would grow up instead of growing old, they'd understand. Personally, I'd rather sit home, watch them in their prime on DVD or You Tube with a fat joint! I can also jam along on my Les Paul. with the $300 i save on a ticket, i can order out Chinese! i mean, c'mon...it's not like you go to a concert to meet your idols up close and personal and tell them what a great job they did to their face.
dlawrick Says:
Nov 14, 2008 - You guys hit it right on the head. RP has made the best choices of his career. He has the privilige of harmony work with AK and that band. Both RP adn AK are breaking new ground not rehashing the same old thing. They have the blinders off...
dlawrick Says:
Nov 15, 2008 - Check out the CMT website and their performance of When the Levee Breaks. Stunning...
tashaforsleep Says:
Nov 15, 2008 - wow yeah this is where plant belongs. i'd go see this anyday over a led zeppelin reunion. you won't be getting the zeppelin you grew up on. just your idols within a distance of you.
Tsukamaki Says:
Nov 15, 2008 - I absolutely shall. Many thanks dlawrick!
BananaHurricane Says:
Nov 15, 2008 - I completely agree with you. Even though I'm 23 and I never got the chance to see Zeppelin in concert, I certainly would not go see the band without Robert behind the mic. Robert is done with the Zeppelin chapter of his life. I really love what he's doing with Alison. I don't see how the rest of the band can justify continuing on with the tour without Robert.

Nov 19, 2008 - I've been to a lot of concerts going back to LZ playing at UC Irvine, to Tulls first tour, The Who at Anaheim and so on, those are days long past, that while extremely enjoyable the new direction I see RP headed is a welcome journey all to itself I flew from San Deigo to New Orleans to see these two giants play and the magnificance that unfolded before my eyes, brought on tears. The only regret was missing them when they played in San Diego. As one person said bask in this

Nov 20, 2008 - made me cry.. so perfect......
dlawrick Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - Hey Behmor, saw them at Humphrey's from a kyak on the bay. That was a great experience. They play sonic landscaping. Each song goes to a different place with subtleties, shade and space. Nashville meets Zep meets New Orleans meets Appalachia meets rockabilly meets open Texas spaces meets the swamps meets 2AM. It's all there...

Nov 23, 2008 - Just bought the album, best thing i have listened to for quite a while.
