TWILIGHTxBELLAx16 Says:
Nov 4, 2008 - he has got so much soul in this song, its unbelievable...
SenorMADador Says:
Nov 5, 2008 - Zeppelin took a lot of stuff from major players in old acoustic blues. Son House and Muddy Waters are good examples. I still respect Zeppelin though.
chainthatdoor Says:
Nov 6, 2008 - Yeah, like whole songs without giving any credit until they were sued. Led Zeppelin, as great as they were, were thieves.
postprob Says:
Nov 9, 2008 - Incredible! The intensity of Sonny Boy Williams II and then some. What a presence! I love the line about the four women. Enough to raise the hair on the back of your neck. The voice is close to breaking--authenticity is breath-taking.

Nov 13, 2008 - AMAZING!!!! I had an old cassette of newport blues fest in the 60's and he did this live.....still sends shivers! Thanks for this!!

smilingburrito Says:
Nov 17, 2008 - Out of curiosity, who are the other two? I'm guessing Leadbelly and Robert Johnson. Of course I love Howlin' Wolf, too.
Aro2220 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - that's exactly it
Aro2220 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Even Isacc Newton was a thief. He said, "If I have been able to see farther than others, it was because I stood on the shoulders of giants." Its called inspiration and it comes from many things. What amazing things do you really think would come from a person born in an empty room, who lived in an empty room and died in an empty room. We are all part of it.
chainthatdoor Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - Right. I know all about inspiration and influence. I was merely mentioning that Led Zeppelin did steal, because they played other peoples' songs and putting on the album that Page and Plant wrote them. I see nothing wrong with doing different arrangements of someone else's songs, but the credit should be given to the original artists. Like Bring it on Home, they took the credit until Willie Dixon sued them.
56BUICKRiviera Says:
Nov 20, 2008 - Live the blues then pick up that guitar
leert123 Says:
Nov 20, 2008 - when the levee breakes they uses the same guitar and kind of the same rythme
borimirtheboring Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - Most blues is borrowed from other sources. They used a line here and a phrase there. Even Robert Johnson's songs have bits of other people's songs.
mebloke69 Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - it´s better to steal and then shake it like a cocktail.if you have ability to do it, and then put your own signature on it,then everybody praise, borrow and return.
MikeSpikeita Says:
Nov 25, 2008 - great right hand move!
g4pei Says:
Nov 28, 2008 - Beautiful - why oh why can't I sing and play like that.
Neustria Says:
Nov 28, 2008 - I've heard of Son for years. This is the first time I see him play. Very fine!
TheTallMan35 Says:
Dec 1, 2008 - g4pei: Paint yourself to look like a black man, walk a few years in an impoverished black man's shoes while living in the Mississippi Delta in the 30s & 40s during the core of the racial issues in this country. Then, and only then, will you sing and play like that.
regularperson46 Says:
Dec 1, 2008 - Son House was the real deal. None of the original blues musicians are left they've just about all died off.
g4pei Says:
Dec 1, 2008 - TheTallMan35 - Well said. Such a powerful performance and beautiful lyrics. Almost haunting.
exhibitatrocity Says:
Dec 1, 2008 - It's probably a bad idea to paint yourself to look like a black man.
ledzeppelinguy4life Says:
Oct 30, 2008 - i dont rly see what Zeppelin has to do with this....i dont really think Page took a riff from this ,it does sound alittle the same but who says he did it intentionally
