Pink Floyd "High Hopes" The Division Bell [Lyrics] Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young In a world of magnets and miracles Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary The ringing of the division bell had begun Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway Do they still meet there by the Cut There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps Running before time took our dreams away Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground To a life consumed by slow decay The grass was greener The light was brighter With friends surrounded The night of wonder Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again Dragged by the force of some inner tide At a higher altitude with flag unfurled We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world Encumbered forever by desire and ambition There's a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road we've been so many times The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river Forever and ever

Nov 19, 2008 - When exactly was made this video? And when exactly was made Jethro Tull's Slipstream? Both have that gigantic balloons (5:50 and etc) What is the meaning of the balloons in progressive rock? :S

guitarsxrxausome Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - when he said the endless river i started thinking. because if you think about it most rivers are endless. just flowing into one another in a continus circle. maybe we can think about time in this way. if we picture endless time being a continus circle then maybe we can began to understand forever. thoughts?

Platinger Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - In my eyes there is one major difference between Nightwish and Pink Floyd. Nightwish are mainstream. Pink Floyd never were. There are lots of bands you can compare to Nightwish - but none is like Pink Floyd. I do like 1 or 2 Nightwish songs (walking in the air f.e.) - but Pink Floyd are geniuses.

alex61640 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - To Platinger: I'm with you. For Pink Floyd their music is in front and themselves are in the back. Nightwish just showing up. No offence but they touch nothing in my soul. Hundreds years ago Beethoven's teacher told him: "the music is always the same as the composer" . Still true.

Nov 21, 2008 - Life is about the relationships we create along the 'journey". The end of the journey is froth with indignities, pain, suffering and misery.
