Jul 14, 2008 - hilarious. if anyone takes it seriously, they have lost their sense of humour along the way.

Jul 17, 2008 - well seeing as you are from the UK and don't recognise the English OR Irish flag... you are a plum. No use denying it i'm afraid.
IHaveTheQi Says:
Jul 19, 2008 - They use a different last verse on the At the Drop of Another Hat CD, which is a lot funnier, but this is still very, very funny. I always imagined Michael Flanders to look a bit fatter. He looks pretty thin and ill in this

Jul 24, 2008 - Same...
Emikero Says:
Aug 3, 2008 - Me being English, take what they say into consideration, and do agree that there is a different verse. mainly because my mum told me and she found Flanders and Swann absolutely hysterical when she was younger. XD

Aug 6, 2008 - Some of us, of course, detect no irony...and to us to us, this little song is, naturally enough, the literal truth...

pintpot Says:
Aug 24, 2008 - YES! - this kind of dumb points-scoring and re-raking of history in order to justify prejudices is EXACTLY what this song is parodying!
scotchrumour Says:
Sep 6, 2008 - Nice to see that F&S live on in parody on the Armstrong & Miller TV Show.

Oct 12, 2008 - I once had a conversation with an african who was sad that the british had left africa. We did some bad things but on the whole we were a force for good. We still are.

gilgamess Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - According to the radio special I heard about them, they felt that the times were changing, but if you had asked both of them, Flanders would have been more than likely to continue. Swann wanted to do other things musically and did, such as "The Road Goes Ever On". Their parting was amicable, as far as I can tell. Thanks for the facts about Flanders, Leon!
skylandmountain Says:
Dec 4, 2008 - We should have blown all u fuckers up...
Gished Says:
Jul 11, 2008 - Flanders & Swann? Yes, I'm well aware of that, thank you. I was referring to the sentiments expressed in the previous post. Where do you see a satirical tone?
